I’m Cris, based in Geleen in the south of the Netherlands. I am together with my wife Mieke for 19 years. I’m curious by nature and enjoy discovering new places, meeting people and understanding what makes them tick. I am interested in almost everything.
Outside work, you’ll often find me outdoors, travelling, fishing or walking our dachshund, Loes. I also enjoy climbing and working with wood – activities that let me focus, challenge myself and see something take shape.
Spending 81 days exploring Sweden in 2025 and 2026 gave me the chance to slow down, discover different ways of living and have conversations I would never have had from behind a desk.
Whether I’m at home or abroad, I value good company, good food, straightforward conversations and the freedom to explore something new.

Always looking for the next adventure. Climbing mountains, diving in the ocean, following a winding river through Limburg or France, eating tapas in Spain, or fishing for pike in Sweden.
What is hidden in that forest, around the next bend, or beneath a rock underwater? Exploring keeps me curious, sharp and open to new ideas.
Travel
Travel is a way of life that gives me perspective. From Asia to Africa, and from Sweden to the States, travelling has opened my eyes and given me the chance to reset.
Once you have seen the world from different angles, it changes the way you look at things. And that is the beauty of it. By discovering new places, cultures and ways of living, you also learn a great deal about yourself and about life.
